Tintagel Castle - First view of the castle ruins, the mainland courtyards. The medieval castle was built in the 13th century, but it is thought that fortresses stood here all the way back to the 3rd or 4th century.

Tintagel Castle - The bridge and stairs to the Island

Tintagel Castle - Looking southwest-ish from the bridge

Tintagel Castle - The bridge was made of wooden stairs, but beyond that were stone steps. The sign did not lie.

Tintagel Castle - The beach on the northeast-ish side of the bridge, the Haven.

Tintagel Castle - The Island Courtyard. Legend is that Tintagel Castle was where King Arthur (of the round table) was conceived, thanks to some of Merlin's magic.
